uses aiml (with tons of easter eggs i've added in there...) to model stelarc's more mundane info so his real head can talk about more interesting stuff.
unfortunately this can't be seen over the web. some pretty intense 3D, text->speech, text->animation happening in there.
the head will be shown at the australian center for the moving image in december. this is the link from ACMI:

Re: prosthetic head
Fri, November 21, 2003 - 9:05 PMnice! i was just about to start asking people to post interesting alicebot/aiml style implementations. flash, java, robotics, mobile devices, corporate or weirdness, etc.
one thing i didn't find when looking more closely at alicebot a couple of years ago was a good multi-user tool for building an aiml set. most stuff was an application. i guess my idea is that a big social network could of contributors could more rapidly build an aiml set - perhaps through a web based ui (not out now i don't think) - giving the tribe a 'voice' that was greater as a whole (at least in appearance) than the sum of it's parts. i think that a few K people could quickly build an unusual aiml set. -

Re: prosthetic head
Sun, November 23, 2003 - 5:02 PMkool, there are some animatronic heads at androidworld.com, and links to others from there as well.
I wonder when Realdolls will be fully articulated, at some point we may see artificial angels, or other custom hybrid creations. I plan on working to bring a small robotics platform to market sometime later next year, and would gladly accept any ideas or even some form of partnership towards such ventures. I have some very good ideas reguarding frictionless motors (and generators) that would greatly increase the battery life of any robotics platform.
I plan on working those issues out before engaging to heavily in prototype development. P.S. hey Karen, how's the trip going? maybe next summer you will travel to the seacoast to see what I'm up to?
